Granny squares zijn vierkante lapjes waarbij je eindeloos kunt vari\u00ebren met kleuren en patronen, waardoor elk vierkantje uniek wordt. Deze afzonderlijke vierkantjes kunnen later aan elkaar worden bevestigd om grotere projecten te maken, zoals dekens, sjaals, tote-bags of kussens, maar het kan ook dienen als een glasonderzetter. Het haken van granny squares is niet alleen een creatieve bezigheid, maar ook een handige manier om restjes garen op te maken. Daarnaast kun je het gemakkelijk oppakken en weer neerleggen, waardoor het een ideaal project is om even tussendoor te doen en steeds verder uit te breiden. Je kunt dus breinloos een kwartiertje per dag haken, om er later iets groter van te maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je bent volledig vrij in het patroon en de kleuren van je granny square. Eindeloze variatie is mogelijk. Op youtube vind je allerlei tutorials van uiteenlopende patronen.
